Review & Giveaway: Spinlight Studios iPad Apps

Recently I was contacted by Spinlight Studios to test out five of their apps with my three children on my iPad. We tested out: Alpha Tots, Tally Tots, Table Tots, Swapsies, and Operation Math. The children enjoyed these apps and use them several times per week.

Alpha Tots
My two youngest (boys 3 & 5) really enjoyed Alpha Tots. Not only does it reinforce learning the alphabet, it provides several wonderful interactive games that include puzzle solving and teaching various life skills.

Tally Tots
This app is a hit with my 3-year-old son. He enjoys counting and sorting all of the rich colorful shapes and pictures. This app is helping to reinforce my 3-year-old sons conceptual understanding of actual numbers.

Table Tots
This app is very unique in that you are able to create your own “lessons” for math, colors, shapes, and letters. It is like your own unique table in which you are able to teach your toddler any combination of the lessons offered. My 3-year-old son LOVES to do any of the lesson related to colors and letters. Our 5-year-old son really enjoys the math counting with dominoes and coins.

Swapsies
This app is the favorite of our 3-year-old son. This app allows the children to “dress” various people in any combination of 10 occupations. There are three sections your child can sort through: shoes/pants, shirts, and hats. When your child gets an entire uniform that matches there are 10 games that they will be able to play – one per occupation. There is even a quiz that your child can take as well.

Operation Math
Our 10-year-old daughter tested out this app. There are 105 different “missions” based on three different skill levels. My daughter is really advanced in math (currently in pre-algebra) for her age so the game was very simple, but still fun. She enjoyed the theme of the game and really liked the mission tracking map. The game is a great game, just a bit under my daughters current level of math. However, the boys are both interested, and our 5-year-old is able to play up to a certain level which was a great surprise.

Spinlight has generously agreed to give 2 of my readers the chance to win all 5 apps!
