VocabularySpellingCity.com – A Review

Recently I was offered the opportunity to review VocabularySpellingCity.com. We have been using this program for our daughter, Princess, who is in 5th grade for about 3 weeks now. This program was just the breath of fresh air that my daughter needed in her schooling!

VocabularySpellingCity.com, among other things, offers parents the tools to input our child’s weekly spelling list then have the child take the test on the computer. For our daughter this has been a nice change to her weekly spelling tests that had always been done with paper and pencil.

In addition to the spelling test you can do the following with your child’s spelling list:

  • vocabulary test
  • teach me – this feature audibly teaches them the word by spelling it letter by letter and giving them an example of the word in a sentence
  • flash cards – these are customizable and printable
  • games to reinforce the above

There are other things that you can do in addition to the above list. VocabularySpellingCity.com also offers handwriting worksheets, analogies, compound words, math vocabulary, science vocabulary, and much more.

This new addition to our homeschool has given our daughter something to look forward to. The break up of the regular routine has benefited her in many ways. We will continue to use this as a tool in our homeschool and plan to integrate into my sons schooling later on.

I’ve been given a premium membership to VocabularySpellingCity.com for a candid, personal, online review. This has in no way influenced my view of their program, all opinions expressed are my own.
