Nativity Preschool Handwriting Printables

By Mike + Carlie Kercheval | December 19, 2018

Handwriting can be a fun activity that you and your preschool-age children look forward to. Sometimes all it takes is attaching the handwriting to a theme they know and love.

Tis the season for Nativity preschool handwriting printables! If your family is anything like ours, you love the Christmas season. The Nativity story is a favorite of ours and so we decided it would be fun to have a Nativity-themed handwriting packet for all the darling preschoolers out there!Teaching all three of our children how to write was one of my most favorite things I've done as a homeschool mom, second only to teaching them how to read. 10 Thanksgiving Books Every Family Should Read Together

By Mike + Carlie Kercheval | November 7, 2018

Our family is big on reading books together. We have found our favorite books over the years and are sharing 10 books we think every family should read together at Thanksgiving! :: welcometothefamilytable.com

Reading together is one of our families favorite pass times. Some of the greatest memories that I (Carlie) have as a young girl are sitting in my Grandma Jean's lap as she would read book after book to me. Because my grandma was a teacher it seemed like she had countless books on every subject and every holiday. As an adult I've been able to pass on some of my favorite books and my children love them just as much as I do! Today I am sharing 10 of our family's favorite Thanksgiving books. We will definitely be sitting together and reading each of these books during the month of November and View Post

To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord —1 TIMOTHY 1:2We had just finished eating dinner when the doorbell rang. I had a pretty good guess who it was. Sure enough, as I opened our front door, I saw four kids from our neighborhood eagerly waiting for our children to be done with dinner.Since we moved in to our new neighborhood, our home has become the gathering place for basketball, capture the flag, football, and every- thing in between. I could feel the kids’ disappointment when I said, “Our kids can’t come out yet. View Post

From Discipline to Discipleship

By Carlie Kercheval | May 6, 2018

It never feels good when we have to discipline our children. The key is turning the discipline to discipleship.

I sat at my desk, pouring through emails about soccer, school, classes and business.  Lessons needed planning and tests grading.  The stack of bills needing attention leaned precariously towards the edge of my desk, threatening to throw themselves overboard.  Spread too thin, I struggled to mentally organize and prioritize my many responsibilities. My time, so limited, pressed into me like a weight too heavy to shift. My chest tightened when I heard the rumblings drawing closer to my home office, “Liiiii-deeee-yaaaaa! I’m telling mom!”  Enter my two youngest daughters, eyes full with hot View Post

Are We Passing On A Counterfeit Faith?

By Chandra | May 5, 2018

Are We Passing on a Counterfeit Faith?

Are we passing on a counterfeit faith to our children? In today's culture it is so easy to do.Let me explain. Are We Passing on a Counterfeit Faith? We all want the best for our children; there's no doubt about that. We all want our friends, acquaintances, and family members to know, love, and walk with God. Most of us would even admit to being aware that we are called to also want the same for our enemies. It makes sense, then, that we would never knowingly hinder anyone on their journey to, or with, God. But it seems that we are often doing exactly that by communicating, modeling, View Post

Discipling Our Children In Prayer

By Chandra | May 5, 2018

Discipling our children in prayer is one of the most important things we can do as parents. Come see why.

Discipling our children in prayer is one of the most important jobs we have as Christian parents. Some call it mentorship and mentoring is a hot topic. Secular and faith-based writers and organizations laud its benefits, decry its scarcity, and encourage its revival. But like many other disciplines and practices, mentoring is simply a version of discipleship: a relational technique brought to life by Christ's interactions with His hand-picked group of up-close-and-personal friends and students. Anyone can be discipled in anything. As women, moms and influencers at home, work, and school, View Post
