Well either way, if you are anything like us, when someone challenges us to do something to better ourselves as a person (and in this case, a parent) we are game! Today we are going to share with you a resource that we ran into several years ago that keep blessing our family year after year.

The Love Dare for Parents

Have you ever heard of the popular best selling book The Love Dare? It is a wonderful book for married couples that challenges you and your spouse to love one another unconditionally for 40 days straight. We have completed this challenge several times since the book was published in 2008 – and it has blessed our marriage every time.

Have you heard of the book – The Love Dare for Parents – written by the same authors of The Love Dare? They already had our attention because we enjoyed The Love Dare – so we knew that this book was a must-have for our parenting journey. We are always looking for new ways to communicate our love for our children to them – and are up for the challenge!

The Commitment to Love

One of the things we really liked about the Love Dare for Parents book is the simple fact that it is committed to helping families love one another. As Christians we want to become more like Jesus every day. Sometimes as parents this is a difficult thing to walk out during times when there are circumstances trying to take over our emotions. However, if we take it one day at a time, we are able to accomplish some pretty amazing things. This book takes you through the love that God commands and teaches us to walk out in the scriptures – applying it towards our children on a daily basis. God promises us in Isaiah 55:11, “so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” We sow love, we gain love. It is a win-win for everyone!

Are you ready to dig in and take this 40 day journey? You will find 40 challenges designed to strengthen and build love in your relationship between you and your children. Each challenge can realistically fit into any schedule as they are designed to fit into a busy day – so no need to worry that this challenge is not “doable” for you. We highly recommend that you take your time if you need to spend more than one day on any given portion of the challenge. Regardless if you finish in exactly 40 days or not, this study will bless your family through and through! What are you waiting for?
