In my life this week…

My time in the Word has been so explosive! You know, those times when you open up your Bible and it is like fireworks are going off? Such a sweet time of revelation and communion with my Jesus! And of course this translates into great things in the children as well. Grateful.

In our homeschool this week…

Although we are technically done with the bulk of our school year – we have been delving into a FABULOUS science curriculum – Elemental Science’s Lapbooking through Animals.

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

If your children need you, always put your children FIRST. Meaning, if you are reading to your child and the phone rings, don’t answer it.

I am inspired by…

The Bible. I am so grateful for the written, living, Word of God to guide me and give me wisdom!

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

This week is very low key – we just ran errands as we have been doing some projects in preparation for my husband’s redeployment from Afghanistan 🙂

My favorite thing this week was…

Playing lots of board games with my children. The children have taken up a new love for Chinese checkers.

What’s working/not working for us…

Lapbooking through Animals is DEFINITELY working for us 🙂 I am excited to introduce more lapbooks and unit studies into our homeschool.

Questions/thoughts I have…

When will I have time to finish my first eBook? Hopefully soon….

Things I’m working on…

Getting more rest. A mother’s work is never done. I am sure every last one of you reading this know EXACTLY what I mean!

I’m reading…

I am still rereading:

Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul {John & Stasi Eldredge}

I’m cooking…

Rotisserie chicken, tacos, grilled chicken, tuna casserole, and pasta. Lots of smoothies in our Vitamix this week as well as some homemade ice cream in the Vitamix as well! My daughter baked some goodies for us one day this week while I was napping off a bad sinus headache!

I’m grateful for…

My husband being at a larger FOB (Forward Operating Base) in Afghanistan. One day closer to his return 🙂

I’m praying for…

God’s people to truly walk in love with one another.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

My precious daughter after baking some goodies for her brothers and I while I was napping off a bad headache! So blessed to have woke up to such a beautiful sight! I LOVE HER TO LIFE!

And I’m glad to hear about your husband being one step closer to being home — I’m sure you can’t wait!

  3. Sounds like you had a great week. Your daughter sounds a lot like mine (she enjoys cooking as well and surprising me with a meal or dessert she’s made). Homemade ice cream in your vitamix mixer! Yum!!

  4. We have had a very busy four weeks. My husband had a medical emergency. He is now fine, but we are working hard to catch up.

We pray for your husbands safe return.
