Living As One Who Is Grateful

My heart is always crying out a song of gratitude to my Savior and Messiah, Jesus. There is not a day that has ever gone by since I met Him on September 13, 1998, that HE has not consumed the thoughts of my heart.

Sure, I do think about other things, lots of them. Namely my husband, that loves God in a way that I’ve never seen a human being love God before. Three beautiful and precious children that are the fruit of my womb, a perfect union of my dear husband and I. Two children that we conceived in love and lost in between the births of Princess and Prince Charming. Although I never met them, I hold them both dear in my heart. A place that NO ONE else can occupy.

But the biggest place reserved in my heart is for Jesus. It is a place so large that only He can consume it. A place so complicated and full of darkness when not filled by Him. It is a place so desolate that without His love dwelling in the midst; I might as well crumble to the ground and die. Surely this place was built for and reserved for HIM. And Him only. And for this, I am grateful.

His light came into my life and shone upon every place in my heart to expose the good and the bad. To show me things about my character I needed to change and give me the wisdom and grace to do so. And for this, I am forever grateful.

In this place where Jesus consumes my heart you will find many beautiful things {all coming from Him}. You will find compassion and love for orphans, widows, and the poor (Deuteronomy 15:11, James 1:27). You will find forgiveness and mercy (Psalm 130:4, Hebrews 10:18, Psalm 23:6). And most of all, you will find LOVE because it is WHO HE IS (1 John 4:7-21, 1 Corinthians 13, 1 Corinthians 16:14).

….and for this, I am forever grateful….
