Jesus is the Good News!

If you have spent any time on my blog, you’ll realize quickly that our family are HUGE fans of all the What’s in the Bible DVD’s! We own every single one of them and the children, hubby, and I never tire of watching them. Volume 10: Jesus is the Good News is no exception. This DVD is broken up into two episodes covering the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The two mini-episodes take your family through the 400 years between the Old and New Testaments, teaching about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

What We Like About Volume 10

All of it. But here are some specifics:

The continuity.
Going in order when studying the Bible are key when teaching children and new believers. The same fabulous characters that are seen throughout all WITB DVD’s are in this one as well.

The humor.
As with all of the WITB DVD’s, we love Phil Vischer’s sense of humor. Some of the topics taught from the Bible can be heavy concepts for young children, so it is clever to reinforce them by using clean jokes to trigger their memories.

The Message.
The beauty of the message that the hope of Jesus brings is told so beautifully and full of facts in this 2-mini episode DVD. The retelling of Jesus’ death on the cross brought even me to tears – so tender and touchingly told. For one DVD to be so packed full of information spanning over 400 years, this was beautifully done.

I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone who values teaching the Bible to their children. Although we initially purchased all of these DVD’s for our children – both my husband and I have learned a lot throughout the process of watching them. We learned a lot about Christmas in Why do we Call it Christmas? which was shocking to both my husband and I seeing as we didn’t think we were buying these for us as well 🙂 You can read my review of Why do we Call it Christmas here.
