What To Do? Where To Go? HELLLLLP!
As many of you may know, we are an Active Duty Army family stationed in Europe. And unfortunately this summer marks my husbands 4th deployment and 5th long separation from us in the last 8 years since joining the Army. With that said, we are trying to figure out what to do with the children on Michael’s leave before he returns back to the sandbox for another go ’round.
Today was a beautiful, sunny, breezy day in Bavaria and watching my children do their “school work” outside just blessed me more than I can explain. After school, we had a nice lunch in the garden and then decided to talk about our “boocation” as DS “M” so lovingly calls it (for those of you who are lost, it is 4-year-old caveman talk for vacation….LOL). I think that they all had fabulous ideas (yes, even 2-year-old “S” who’s idea of a vacation is going to McDonald’s) and really enjoyed talking about it. After much talk, I think we have decided to still go camping with some great friends in the Alps…Garmisch to be exact. And other than that, we’ll just spend time being together, loving life, loving daddy, and thanking God for this life he has so graciously blessed us to live.
Grateful for the little things, the daily grind that we take for granted, dirty hands on my glass, freedom to love Jesus, freedom to educate my children at home, and for a loving God who has given us His kingdom to enjoy while on Earth. Embrace your children, spouse, friends, and family. Then everything else will fall into place and the answers we seek will fall into place. God always shows us what to do, where to go, and anything else we need when we quiet ourselves and allow Him to minister to our hearts.
