Online CLEP Prep for Homeschoolers with JumpCourse.com
My husband and I are more than thrilled that our oldest child, who is starting next school year as a homeschool freshman, will be able to use JumpCourse.com to get a head start on earning her college credits. JumpCourse.com is a phenomenal new and exciting program that your homeschool high school student can use to earn college credit through CLEP. CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) is the most widely trusted credit-by-examination program that is accepted by over 2,900 colleges and universities. CLEP allows you to take an exam to earn college credits without taking the course.
If I am being honest, I’ve been a little nervous about our first child entering the high school years of homeschooling. It’s not because I don’t feel adequate enough to teach high school; rather it is because I know that colleges and what they desire for prospective students changes constantly. I have read so much information over the last 5 years in anticipation of our oldest reaching her high school years, that it could make my head explode! This is where JumpCourse.com comes in and takes a lot of that guess work out of the way for me, providing our daughter with the freedom of choice in her education. And because our daughter is an extremely gifted student (she has already skipped one full grade), this program is right up her alley.
How Does JumpCourse.com Work?
3 Unique Benefits of JumpCourse.com
1. Each course caters to different learning styles. In each course the student will find watching, reading, and practicing sections. These sections allow the student to help reinforce the information for their specific course through the most effective way each student learns.
2. It’s cost effective. Each JumpCourse.com is just $99! Imagine just paying $99 for a college course as opposed to expensive credit hours! And the online course is all-inclusive, no labs or textbooks to drain your budget. For those who are frugally minded like our family, this speaks multitudes to the pocketbook.
3. The JumpCourse.com guarantee. JumpCourse.com guarantees that the student will pass their CLEP exam if it is taken within 6 months of the JumpCourse completion. If the student does not pass, JumpCourse will allow them to access the course for free until they do! Talk about invested! This really appeals to us as it is obvious that JumpCourse.com really believes they have quality content and they are invested in your child’s success.

My eldest is in 7th/8th this year so we are very close to looking into all the high school / college combo programs out there, including public ones. This sounds fabulous! What did you think of the educational content provided Carlie?
I think the content is great. It is everything they’d need to know in order to pass the course they are aiming to test out of. If you go to their site, you can see some examples of the content, and even take a free trial!
I haven’t gone to the site yet, but I thought I’d ask here first.
How are the courses for children with dyslexia or other learning disabilities?
Thanks. 🙂
Hi MJ, I would recommend contacting them directly to ask as I didn’t see any information on the site that would answer your questions.
My daughter is entering her freshman year as well. I am interested in CLEP test for her, but had not considered them until her junior or senior year. Had not thought about her taking them earlier!
My oldest is just finishing his sophomore year. It would be great to have him take a CLEP exam this coming year in a math or science.
a few yrs as my son is a freshman in high school
My daughter is entering 8th grade. Realizing I need to start thinking about options. So it will be a little while before she will take a CLEP but we need to start planning.
We were going to wait until our daughter reached 11-12 grade.
This program opens more doors for her to start early. A great way to be prepared for college!
