Homemade Chocolate Chip Brownies

Homemade chocolate chip brownies are a favorite treat in our home. We especially like this recipe as it is a little more on the chewy side; and chewy chocolate chip brownies are our very favorite! These dense, cake-like chocolate chip brownies are perfect for a family night, party, school event, church event, or any other place where hungry people will gather.

Homemade Chocolate Chip Brownies

Ingredients:
1 cup self rising flour
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1-1/2 cup vanilla (or plain) greek yogurt
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup coconut oil (liquid form, microwave if necessary)
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.

2. Line a square baking pan (9×9) with parchment paper and grease the parchment paper with cooking spray. Set aside.

3. In a large bowl, add flour, sugar and cocoa powder. Make a well in the center of the bowl and add yogurt, water, coconut oil and mix well by hand.

4. Stir in chocolate chips.

5. Pour into prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6. Let cool completely and cut into squares.

TIP: These brownies are like a dense rich cake. It can be a little messy when cut, so you refrigerate and then cut or you can wipe your knife after each cut if you want a cleaner look.
