Making A Cake Of Germany And Brotherly/Sisterly Love!

For those of you who follow the blog that are fellow My Father’s World – Exploring Countries and Cultures curriculum users – this is our version of the cake for week 2 – a cake with Germany on it as that is our new residence. We don’t always follow the “rules” around here when it comes to the projects, so we did ours today, Day 1 – week 3.

For everyone else who has no idea what I am talking about – this post is to show you some pictures of what the children did today in art/cooking. In our use of the above named curriculum, the project was to bake a cake and show geography on it. My children wanted to make a “Germany” cake in honor of our host nation.

So they did.

Here are their results – and they are not just “cake”.

This project resulted in increased brotherly LOVE

It also resulted in the boys encouraging their sister as well….
Another result was an increased confidence in identifying countries in an Atlas…
Ahhh….the final “cake” result…..so proud of them!
So proud of her accomplishment….
The FINAL result = increased sibling LOVE, cooperation, and yummy cake to eat!

“If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.”
~ 1 John 4:20-21.

I’d say today was a GREAT day, wouldn’t you?

Honored to call HIM Father,

Carlie K.
