DADDY AND HIS SONS HAVING A FATHER-SON MOMENT!

"My son, hear the instruction of your father; reject
not nor forsake the teaching of your mother. For they are
a [victor's] chaplet (garland) of grace upon your head
and chains {and} pendants [of gold worn by kings] for
your neck." Proverbs 1:8-9 (AMP)

Before I deployed to Afghanistan this summer, I had the opportunity to have my two boys
practice their letters. I used flash cards that had both the actual letter and a picture that
represented the letter at hand. It was awesome to have S on one side of me and M on the
other. They both were smiling from ear to ear because I took time out of my day to sow into
their homeschooling. It was awesome to witness M figure out the letter, while S blurted out
what the picture was. Together we hugged each other and kept having fun.

This was awesome because we all had a father-son moment.

A father-son moment is when all attention is placed on one another; and we choose
to embrace and reflect on each other. I am so proud of my sons for allowing me to
minister to them. Fathers I encourage you to sow into your child's life by reading them
the Word (Bible) and setting the example for them to follow. Even when I do not "feel"
like it, I get up and read my Bible, pray, and worship my God for all He has done in my
life. I know that my life is NOT my own - and so I continually trust God and hand my
life over to him every single day. I know that this has made an impact upon each of my
sons as I see how much they want to be like me. I am grateful that I understand that
what they are really drawn to is the Christ in me. I will continue to fight for my
family and pursue God with all my heart - and thankfully, my family WILL FOLLOW!

Be Encouraged,
Michael K
