eMeals Review {& Giveaway}

eMeals is a wonderful company that was founded by two sisters who are also devoted wives and mothers who were on a quest to make meal time more effective for their families. Together with a team of experienced meal planners and chefs, they have created a wonderful product that is sure to please most any family.

My husband and I have been on a quest for the past decade to continually find economical ways to feed our family tasty, healthy food that wouldn’t cost us a fortune. While we have been blessed to find some amazing cookbooks that helped us out early in our journey, our most recent discovery of eMeals has given us the gift of time back to our family. Although both of my husband and I are cooks (my husband cooks for a living), we tire at times of continually enjoying the task of preparing foods for our family. For the last month, using the Emeals plan, all of that has changed – for the better.

How eMeals Saves You Time & Money

The main factor that eMeals provides that saves our family money is the shopping lists. You only buy what you need to prepare your meals that week and many things are re-used later in the week. For instance, you may cook 1.5lbs of chicken on Monday only to use half of it for another meal on Thursday, very time efficient and economical. Another great asset to the eMeals plan is grocery shopping by store. You can get your shopping list tailored to the following choices:

  • ALDI
  • Kroger
  • Publix
  • Ralphs
  • Safeway
  • Target
  • Walmart
  • Whole Foods
  • Any Other Store

Living in Germany we have been using the “any other store” option, but once we are back stateside, we’ll be able to choose more options depending on where we live. Either way, it’s been a time and money saver for us for sure. Our grocery budget this month of using eMeals has been a little over $175 less than it was the month prior. We are already a frugal family – so to cut costs by that much, I am impressed!

We have also saved a lot of time by not having to figure out what we are going to make. This, along with less frequent trips to the store, has given us hours back each month. By having a focused shopping trip with no stress (because you already a shopping list made FOR you along with a meal plan),  you spend less time in the shopping aisle of a grocery store, and more time doing things most important to you. It is nice having the peace of mind that no matter what, I have a recipe to cook every day.

And yet another way we are saving money is that having a plan means less unplanned eating out. Those of you who are frugal budget-planning families like ours know how eating out due to lack of planning can become costly. By having this plan, you will limit those unexpected dining out expenses and keep that money in your own pocket where it belongs!

Another way that eMeals is saving my family both time and money is by using their recipes for freezer cooking. We have prepared several recipes and frozen them. From soups to pasta bakes, we’ve done it. Anyone who is frugal in their kitchen knows how much of a money AND time saver this way of cooking is. And the nice thing about it all is that even on the days when I am cooking dinner, it is non-stressful because I have come to learn that I can trust that our eMeals dinner is going to taste great and have easy-to-follow instructions as well!

How Do The Meals Taste?

This was a BIG concern for my husband and I being that we are both good home cooks and tend to be a bit “foodie-ish” (yes I just made up that word…ha!) about what we eat. We wanted to have the convenience of a meal plan, the savings of a shopping list, as well as flavor that would keep the family’s palettes satisfied. Well I can assure you – we have been able to find all three!

Currently we are using the gluten free and vegetarian menus. Right away we have found some amazing recipes that are keepers for sure. Each recipe we have tried has been delicious, full of flavor, and has met our specific dietary needs. Here are just a few photos of some of the fabulous meals we have already made.

Even if you don’t like every single one, you will have a HUGE recipe bank to pull from!
