What’s Your Faith Level?
It seems everyday I find myself engaged in conversations with frustrated believers. They are frustrated about any and everything. The root of their frustration is usually the same. They have asked God for something they have yet to receive. Then there are those who are content in their present – while in expectation of an even brighter future. This group is constantly being blessed. So then you have to ponder the question, “What differentiates the have from the have not?” Faith. Your faith level to be exact.
There are people asking God for mansions, expecting mansions, operating in trailer park faith. You are wasting your time and frustrating yourself asking God for things you aren’t ready to receive. We serve a God who doesn’t set us up to fail. He sends us through a process of preparation for our blessings. So when we do receive we are able to recognize, appreciate, maintain and hold on to what has been given. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t expect more. We should. That’s faith. However, many don’t understand or choose not to do their part. Faith accomplishes nothing without action. You have to activate and choose to walk in a higher level of faith (expectation). That’s expressed through how you live your life. As you go from faith to faith it should be evident in how you are living. Things today shouldn’t be the same as yesterday, last week, last month or even last year.
A higher level of faith and action are required before advancing into a higher quality of life. You can’t move into a new season with an old season’s faith and action. People are so conditioned to asking God for things. Change what you ask God for and he will change your life. Seek him for your purpose and what moves to make in order to accomplish that. All the other things plus more will be added to you. Think bigger than the tangible. Stop wondering why God hasn’t moved in your life and realize He has. Now it’s your move.
“The thing you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what God wants. Then all these other things you need will be given to you.” Matthew 6:33 (NCV)
