Refuse to Quit {& Living in the Word Link Up}

Have you ever experienced a test or trial that seemed as if it would never end? I have! In fact, after a couple of years, my family is still going through one.

There have been days when I have wanted to cry (and did). There have been days when I have wanted to scream (but didn’t). And there have been plenty of days when I have wanted to throw my hands up in the air and just give up – but that will never happen.

Why?

Because I refuse to quit!

Refuse to Quit

I refuse to allow circumstances and situations to determine my reality. I refuse to allow the “hard spots” to steal the dream that the Lord has placed in my heart. I refuse to be defeated in any area of life because Jesus has already overcome it all for me!

Instead, I choose to believe the Word of God over what I see, hear, and especially what I feel.

However, this can be one of the most difficult choices. Because when problems arise, it sometimes seems as if they are screaming at you. It may even seem as if everything you see and everything you hear promise eminent defeat.

That’s why we don’t look at or listen to circumstances.

2 Corinthians 4:18 (NLT) says,

So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Rather than looking at the problems or troubles, we must choose to focus our attention on what the Word of God has promised.

Choose to believe what the Lord Jesus Christ has already done for you:

  • Choose to be more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37).
  • Choose to be an overcomer (1 John 4:4).
  • Choose to be victorious (1 Corinthians 15:57).
  • Choose to always triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14).
  • Choose to believe that with Him nothing is impossible to you (Luke 1:37).

Absolutely refuse to allow your circumstances to cause you to quit! No matter how long it takes, keep standing, keep believing, keep expecting the answer.

The Word of God is Truth. If you will believe it and speak it, it will cause your problems and situations to turn around and before you know it, you will be on the other side with an amazing testimony!

Refuse to quit!

  1. I really enjoyed reading this. Wish it would have been posted a while ago when I was going through tough times and felt exactly the way you posted it. The versus you picked out are perfect. They are great reminders.

  2. Thank you for sharing this! There have been so many messages about the darkness of fear in my life lately, and when that happens I really try to listen. It’s almost like the universe is trying to teach me a lesson before I am tested on it! This verse from Corinthians is another perfect addition to that message that I will really be taking to heart, and maybe even writing about myself this week. Thank you so much.
