In my life this week…

I have fallen way behind with housework as my body does not get along with the pollen in Germany. We are done with our core subjects for this school year – so thankful that was not a factor this time around 🙂 My poor little eyelids were swollen shut for nearly 3 days! Thankful today for SIGHT 🙂

In our homeschool this week…

We did a lot of home economics and penny pinching as we had to make meals from almost nothing. My eyes were swollen shut so going to the store was not an option. Thankful that part is OVER now 🙂 There is once again basic necessities in the house!

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

Starting our day off with a time of devotion and prayer together as a family makes our day run very smoothly – if this is not something that you do together as a family already, I encourage you to give it a try!

I am inspired by…

My daughter’s love for people. She is one of the most strong, compassionate, kind, understanding, and wise people I have ever known. She was attacked this week with a very ugly email from an “anonymous” parent in her gymnastics program. VERY UGLY. I was blessed to see her response to the entire situation and her ability to realize that this person has a serious problem and needs a lot of prayer. It hurt my heart to have her ask me, “Mama, is this considered a form of cyber bullying?” Because the answer is: YES. I love her and am inspired by her character and wisdom well beyond her years.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

This week we went over to a dear friends house for lunch – it was a much needed time for fellowship. Other than that – we are just doing the basics – gymnastics, tumbling, gymnastics, tumbling….you get the picture 🙂

My favorite thing this week was…

Seeing how strong my daughter is through adversity.

What’s working/not working for us…

One thing that is definitely working for us – that has ALWAYS worked for us – is our morning devotion time together. It is such a sweet and special time between the children and I.

One thing that does not work for us is skipping devotions – when we do this there is always conflict and frustration early in the day. And for our family, this is just not an option.

Questions/thoughts I have…

I was dreaming earlier today of the embrace between my husband and I when he returns from deployment. Those are always some of the best thoughts to have 🙂

Things I’m working on…

Getting more rest. A mother’s work is never done. I am sure every last one of you reading this know EXACTLY what I mean!

I’m reading…

I am REREADING:

Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul {John & Stasi Eldredge}

Keeping Our Children’s Hearts {Maxwell}

I’m cooking…

SOS, Spaghetti, Chicken Ceasar salad, chicken, and got some roasted chicken from a local German food truck 🙂 Not too shabby for someone who couldn’t see very well due to swollen eyes 🙂 LOL!

I’m grateful for…

Deployment #5 coming to an end. A year can be a long time when your other half is on the other side of the world…

I’m praying for…

God’s people to truly walk in love with one another.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

Here is my Prince Charming last night transforming into “Spidey”. The funny thing is, he has never even seen a Spiderman movie or cartoon – at least not yet 🙂 Funny how our little guys are attracted to heroes regardless if they even know who they are!
