Crafting Family Traditions for Christmas

When I was young and the Christmas season rolled around, my mother, grandmother, and aunt would gather together in my grandfather’s workshop to paint, craft, and create. We would make Christmas decorations, as well as simple handmade gifts to give to others.

I will always cherish those memories – the smell of the raw wood as my grandfather used his scroll saw to cut out various designs for us to “tole paint,” or the smell of the kerosene heater that warmed (or tried to warm) the tiny room in which we worked. But what I enjoyed most was the love and laughter we shared just being together.

Fast forward to today: My grandparents have been gone for many years now, but the tradition of crafting and creating has continued with my mom and me, and now with my children.

It is in the spirit of this tradition that I have created my new online art course for kids, teens, and moms: Winter Wonderland.

If you enjoy creating with your children, or would like to learn how to create various mixed media art, then I invite you to join me for this 4-week course. You can begin (or continue) a family tradition of crafting and creating for your homes and others each Christmas.

I have assembled lots of fun art projects together with some great crafts to decorate your home for the holiday season or to give as Christmas gifts to loved ones.

And because we’re entering the holiday season, I’ll be including easy and beautiful handmade gifts to give, ideas for Christmas cards, and simple homemade Christmas decorations and ornaments to create.

This e-course will be spread over four weeks, with detailed videos and supply lists for each project. Each unique art piece will reflect a different aspect of winter — Christmas, snowy winter scenes, winter flowers, winter poetry, and even a few delicious holiday recipes!

You will have one full year to access this course, so whatever you don’t finish this year, you can save for next year!
