Cookie Sums Math Activity – A Curriculum Review

Recently I had the privilege to review “Cookie Sums” by FlapJack Educational Resources. This math activity is geared at children ages 5-7, focusing on addition problems with sums from 10-18. It can be used in a classroom as a math activity for centers and also for individual children as well. I took on this challenge with my 4-year-old son who is very advanced in his math skills. We used manipulatives to go along with it to continue to build upon his understanding of actual numbers and it paired together amazingly.

Prince Charming engaged with Cookie Sums

This was a very fun and festive activity for my son. The use of Christmas graphics that are nostalgic for most children made the activity that much more fun and engaging for my son. We actually went through the sheet of 15 problems three times before my dear Prince Charming was reluctantly finished. I would definitely recommend this product to any homeschooling parent with a child at this level in math. The only downside is that it was a bit short, so it did leave my son wanting more. Although it is somewhat short, it gives the learner enough time to strengthen their addition skills without overdoing it. I would give this math activity 4 stars as it met my expectations!

This math activity is on sale now at CurrClick for only $1.40! Many other items are on sale until December 19!
